-- and governor let go of a job running -- from Philadelphia schools she negotiates a 905000.

Dollar buyout.

And now she wants to collect unemployment a 500 dollars a week.

Joining us now is Gregg Rosen is the president of the 99 is which represents the unemployed.

Greg I take it -- I wanna hear you what do you think about a million.

Taking unemployment benefits Tellme.

Well.

This is the holiday season at the -- -- miracles -- I think we have one because it you and I I believe we're going to agree with respect to this story.

I find it absolutely a disgrace that somebody who was earning over 360000.

Dollars a year -- Lost her job and walked away with a 905.

Thousand dollar parachute.

Is trying to collect unemployment insurance I find to be disgraceful.

OK well what that's very interesting ID -- do you think that technically.

She is by able to collapse I mean -- and -- -- all rule should negotiated the right exit from the Philadelphia school system so technically.

-- this is valid.

I just wonder if this happens in other cases as well.

Well I don't think there I don't if we look at the over hang up if you look at the 25 million unemployed and underemployed Americans out there.

I don't think -- -- that many that are earning six figure incomes -- the getting close to a million dollars to walk away from their jobs.

I think this is an exception to the wall.

But again I find it to be an absolute travesty.

But if we look if -- look at this little bit further.

I can understand what she's doing what she's doing okay you've got the republic you've got the Republicans up in Washington saying listen if your PO with respect what you're learning grab every penny nickel and -- because we're not gonna raise taxes like you've -- -- -- happy.

I think you're gonna -- up nicely done -- I have a sit down nicely done idea you got you're talking point in that I have now.

We often come to you we often argue about this and I want -- -- valued judgment for a second because before the end of the idea.

Would have to vote on whether on -- the unemployment benefits are extended for another year.

You want them extended a -- move we've been through that argument default what I want from you now is an honest assessment.

All we gonna get an extension of unemployment benefits what do you think.

Well I'm hopeful given the fact that -- in the last couple of days you had -- speaker Boehner come out and say that he feels very -- that there's going to be some sort of a deal worked out in which to extend unemployment insurance which is.

I don't know if it's it's done in the in order to make -- the Republican Party look a little better as we move into this election cycle or if -- actually -- the right thing to do.

But you know if you do extend unemployment benefits that's about I believe about a 160 billion dollars for the yeah.

And if you extend the payroll tax holiday that's another hundred billion that you're not collecting in taxes.

That's a quarter of a trillion dollars.

You -- that could be painful.

I think it could if we actually decide to do away with the bush tax cuts and start taxable I don't know if you do want to correct and that's not gonna happen -- London.

Well -- hit.

If you're gonna do the right thing we -- -- but unfortunately it's my thing wrong thing practical this week and we're not gonna do that so how else can we pay for this.

Well give you perfect example -- last year in our last spring the Obama administration -- suggestion.

They wanted to show all or temporarily -- something that's called the Constellation Program with the NASA program -- -- -- -- back to the moon program that the 106.

Billion dollar program.

Alright they they ignore the president said.

We're gonna give that every -- that's a 106 billion dollars I think everybody could have better going elsewhere OK fair enough look like grows and we often -- -- today -- they would I think we've met together and agreed on -- -- And that's progress young man that's progress -- consistent -- miracles the if you're good -- --
