IBM benchmark has been compiling retail they all week get a John squire chief strategy officer for IBM smarter commerce.

All right so Thanksgiving great day for -- sales.
How does that translate into Cyber Monday now we're about halfway through the day.
Thanks -- Chris so today what we're seeing is is that.
Cyber Monday's 20% -- comes on the back of what we -- -- -- on Black Friday being up 24 point 3% so a very strong showing for online retail.
You know John -- -- we had you only just thought about the growing trends of not only.
-- of it -- using e-commerce to make your holiday purchases but using mobile.
-- are you finding that at least that's the ruler they are halfway point of you know Cyber Monday that more and more people are using mobile.
We are so there's two measures that really come into play here one is how many people are shopping with -- mobile device and that over the weekend and even into dance ever Monday.
Is in the fourteen to 15% range -- that people shopping.
-- those buying right now it's eight point 5%.
Of all the purchases online are going through a mobile device -- -- -- phone or an android device and that's at 260%.
Year over year.
And with the mobile shopper right you have -- Laser focused shopper -- right person knows exactly what he or she is looking for.
They're just gonna punch it up on the phone or what have you and is getting be done with it so.
But you know that's anything about some online shopping right now it's just the way that.
Consumers are really using their mobile devices and how surgical they are about getting in and buying right away and so -- that number right now is eight point 5%.
Of all the on line.
On sales are going through a mobile device and in fact I pat was really the big winner over the weekend.
Being that's -- mobile device being used by consumers as you would expect John look.
-- big picture here.
How does this growing use so violent and -- these mobile devices and that targeted buying.
How does that affect holiday shopping in general because you're not in the store looking for one thing you see for five other things that you put them in your -- and Biden is well.
How is that -- that's got -- concern some retailers I would think.
I think the retailers did a great job of really investing in -- channels that consumers want ideas and so.
For those retailers that have said look we believe that consumers are gonna use mobile devices -- whether it's an android device or an apple device or -- tablet like the iPad.
We need to make their experience very very compelling for them.
And so you know and that since those retailers -- those early investments are really playing out extremely well the department stores I -- you mention Macy's earlier.
Did some great work on their site it works fantastic for people on mobile devices.
And department stores are up 39%.
Today in terms of online sales compared to last -- ever Monday.
You know you mentioned the retailers and going out of their way if you look to accommodate these online that the mobile shoppers.
I noticed -- and I'm not sure I read this correctly but are some retailers actually offering Cyber Monday deals if you specifically use your mobile phone to make that purchase.
Is that -- there are some there are some deals that are on specific to people on experiencing the site through their mobile device and then buying.
There's also some deals where.
And customers are buying get getting these Cyber Monday deals in the stores so.
Brick and mortar stores are starting to see the real impact of Cyber Monday and -- had like in the store also I think he can come and we'll give you the same deal that we have on line.
