Estates all we witness my death yeah.
John Bolton former US ambassador to the United Nations is a good person to ask and he joins us right now.
OK so they fail do we win.
Well I think if the Euro collapses.
On balance that's a good thing for the United States over the long term although the short term it'll be problematic in the reason is.
That the Euro is much more than economic project it's a political project.
That the Europeans wanted to be a poll alternative to the United States and a multi polar world.
But I don't I don't underestimate.
The financial difficulties some of our firms may face.
I don't feel terribly sympathetic to and let -- start selling European financial assets now.
But it it is important point out that if the Euro gets -- serious difficulties Ole -- inflows.
Then that money comes over here -- -- dollar strengthens and the interest -- on our debt goes down making it cheaper to finance -- deficit so you could say that in financial terms over the short -- America's a winner from a well I think it would be because at that point the dollar becomes the only really stable currency that's global at from a western perspective.
But that that's part of what is going on here is people are saying the inherent structural defects in the Euro if Americans are concerned about.
Negative financial implications.
They should sell.
Sovereign debt from European countries they should get out of their investments in European banks and I and they should rebalance their currency portfolios did two downsize the Euro.
Now that this -- another story that's -- making quite a few headlines this morning to some degree overshadowed by the super committee and what's going on in Europe.
But is significant violence in Egypt.
We believe that at least twelve people may be more than twenty were killed overnights.
What what's the fallout for the United States -- this new violence in the most important Arab country in the world.
Well I think it signifies continuing.
Decline in the stability of the Middle East as a whole and this time this is not just Democrats against Hosni Mubarak this is the Muslim Brotherhood against the military.
So what this means I think is that the divide in Egypt is now really being.
Exposed and the risk that.
That are regime in Egypt either another military dictatorship or even worse and as a Muslim Brotherhood takeover.
The entire region -- relations with Israel -- -- and -- turmoil -- -- the oil markets.
That -- some videotape that was released last week and I just wanted to take a look at it and this is the bronco busting -- That apparently is now being delivered to the United States armed forces and may be being delivered to all -- -- forces around the world notably Israel.
Now this just came out.
I'm sure that they this was released if it to be timed with the possibility of an attack on Iran.
What's that doing for the likelihood in the idea of an attack on Iran's atomic facilities.
Well I wish I -- as confident as you were about what it means in terms of an attack I worry more that it's just more show and tell from the Obama administration I mean clearly.
The spotlight is on Israel to decide whether they're going to allow Iran to proceed toward -- nuclear weapons capability or whether they'll use.
Targeted military force against the Iran in nuclear program as they've done before against Syria and Iraq.
I'm sure there's a risk priced into the -- price right now.
For the potential of an attack -- but I think by and large people have this candidate I don't think.
They think it's gonna happen it's certainly not gonna happen from the United States under Obama but if I were out there in the oil markets I'd be watching Israel lot more closely.
Do you happen to know if that bronco busting bomb was delivered to Israel.
Well eight at least -- previous version of it has been and I think Israel for what it's worth does have the capability.
To go after the key nuclear sites we now know about in Iran especially the uranium enrichment.
Facility at the times you think there's -- like them that they will.
Well you know I'd be surprised if they -- and I don't claim any inside information from the Israeli government but they have not hesitated to attack adversaries with developing nuclear programs before.
And if you don't like Iran's behavior today threatening to assassinate.
The Saudi ambassador in Washington for instance imagine how bad it gets and imagine.
The threat to Israel if they get nuclear weapons and -- built into the price of oil as we speak ambassador John -- a pleasure thanks for joining us thank you.
