The good news is that oil fell today the bad news it's still near a hundred bucks a barrel and not helping matters the Keystone Pipeline still on hold from the White House.
Even though the company is willing to re route the project to address environmental -- I sat down -- TransCanada CEO Russ -- earlier today.
You were the guy you a lot of Americans are relying on for 10120000.
New jobs and cheaper oil will the Keystone Pipeline be built.
I think absolutely it's it's gonna get -- it makes too much sense for.
-- this nation makes to much sense for for for Canada.
The US needs some ten million barrels a day of -- -- consumes about fifteen that it needs about ten million barrels at eight imported from someplace around the world.
Found that the most sense for safe and friendly location to get that oil is from candidates insistence that they say an ally that they've had for two hundreds of years span.
The the way that we go about producing oil and Canada is that is very sound.
Time you know save communities to protect the environment -- protecting workers' rights those kinds of -- -- It is -- is it is the by far the best place to get the oil and by far improves the energy security national security.
State Department and the White House's agrees signed off on -- to a delay until 2013.
At least until 2013.
That delay can you wait that long.
I am I I believe that says that the marketplace needs more options to get their product market we've got current production in Canada.
We got growing production in that in the USD in the US mocking crude is growing number of my 500000 barrels a two million barrels they belong -- pipeline systems -- shale oil being developed -- -- that system.
That oil's going to have to get to market the most logical market to put it to you is the Gulf Coast.
They -- about -- and a half million barrels a day.
And Andy import of 05 an afternoon -- this there's a big opportunity for domestic production to push out imports so.
Those producers have made those you know large investments.
And obviously needed options to -- to market so you know -- -- my view -- they'll be out this as long as it takes.
At some point -- they may say.
-- this is just impossible and look for other alternatives the economic case for it I think is undeniable however there is the environmental case the environmentalists say.
In fact I had environmentalists on the other night who said no -- oil.
Is acceptable in the pipeline crossing the contiguous United States they are taken an absolute.
Point with regard that oil that comes from -- -- saying that it is just not possible to transport that safely through a pipeline what would you tell.
Well I think that.
The environmental assessment that was completed and that's the end of August.
Concluded that it can be done safely it's done every day seriously there's about two and a half million miles of pipe that it traversed the the United States today we're talking -- 2000 miles of pipe.
About 200000 miles of liquids pipelines to traverse.
The United States today the hyperbole and rhetoric is and decide -- that Israel is far different it's not caustic.
It's not that has -- -- we have.
Yeah it would make no sense for us to invest thirteen billion dollars.
Being in infrastructure to put something into it and that would cause damage to it and then those refineries that -- that spend billions of dollars.
You know considering a finer around these -- to put something caustic -- -- that refinery that would cause damage or cause geo environmental damage.
Or cause -- potential human entry.
That though those those -- his ludicrous -- the accusations and they're just not true what would you tell Daryl Hannah about this project do you think you could talk her into it.
I've never met Johanna before and -- Who was with all folks opposed the project I would love to have the opportunity to us.
-- to sit down with them understand with -- -- concerns are and -- extent they are true concerns similar to you know the issues in Nebraska we can sit down and talk about you know.
Things that we can fix.
And I can't.
You know or group of and engineers -- -- six years experience doing this.
Get cancer deal with split with hyperbole and and and debt unfounded accusation.
But we can deal with -- with realistic.
And -- and concrete issues and we do that every day and we have we have great concerns for -- Our land holders and 60000 land -- owners across our system we deal with them daily.
And they have real issues and whether they be hand -- plants span and I -- mean we we deal with all of those issues are real issues that -- That they need to be doubtless.
