I wanna miss it well this really an LA auto show gone on to plot was very guessing he was a preview what was going solidly and rover and jaguar pioneers.
Honored dad -- -- Head of consumer affairs of the -- General Motors IBC news and you're killing little.
Days and they.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Yeah he's as a kind of surprising since I was a Kelley -- -- I never thought in the years ahead worked for car company -- you know like this is the car companies really on the moving.
And not looking back at all it's really being very aggressive and imagine my personality I'm happy to be here.
OK so welcome and I got arguing Cadillac Chevy and GMT what what's like the big news this auto show yeah.
-- -- And this of course is the only other show which is normally -- forward you know efficiencies -- again and Green -- Ukraine will.
Of course is it's -- has got a lot of glitz and glamour as well.
But I think what I'm really picked up as far as the team goes is that we're.
It's really downsizing trend going on you -- I'm sitting next to this Cadillac next guest is a perfect example -- that.
This is a a car -- imagine that the only suvs were introduced here in LA by the Honda CRV in the Ford Escape through the -- ones on the market place.
So that's I'm really kind of picking up on that we're gonna start to get back to.
Rational choices weren't many American families cadillacs lead the way this is a disintegrate -- actually it's now lives replacing two cars in the lineup.
PD TS in the STS.
Now you get the XT SE so again I think its -- in this showing where the futures going that you're gonna have.
Smaller engines is has a 300 horsepower V6 instead of any V aids or anything like that.
All wheel drive.
And it's just a beautiful place to be that's the right size for many families.
Then what about bigger -- -- -- -- you know I have three kids they have friends.
Next thing I now I got a lot of kids in my car.
My god now I know and then those vehicles will still be available don't get me wrong it's just that going into cafe regulations of -- -- sixteen.
Manufacturers are going to be really had needing to sell more cars like this and less of the big vehicles now -- will still be there large families like your own.
People towing boats and trailers and so forth so they'll be there it's just they.
The balance in the showrooms is really -- students start to shift toward smaller more efficient much more rational transportation.
For that -- a driver that's why should.
So that's proving to the -- -- got a little bit of bad press lately but you know them all actually.
Not weaken a ton of them but people -- -- them aren't that.
People are really passion about in fact we had an event here Tuesday night Los Angeles where.
We had done sixty some people who were some real you know our early hand raises his car.
And it really you know it's exciting thing people are really tracking how few gallons of -- in -- years.
In fact there's one guy whose -- is -- for almost a year he has not been to the gas station yet he still has the original gas -- -- from the dealership in there.
So that's really help people are using it but -- of course of the -- you know you've got that you can drive to Vegas on a -- if you really need to.
There's I don't.
This bunch of big breakthrough innovations this year is it all about the fuel are there other things that people should be looking for a -- -- this year.
Well I think one of the cool things is back to this Cadillac is something called -- -- system or Cadillac user experience.
-- -- -- very familiar loves their ipads their iPods.
What this does is it brings that same kind of touch screen sensitivity that way -- customizing your screens if you will.
But it's built into the car now it's part of the dashboard if you will and I've been -- for many years now that I think.
The idea the idea knobs and switches and dials and stuff like that manual on -- on the -- -- -- car that's gonna -- really old that's gonna feel like an eight track player pretty soon.
And this Cadillac -- system is the first time that -- -- touch screen that touch sensitive way of manipulating.
Yourself -- access your music your navigation everything -- I think that really shows going to be kind of known as the show where Cadillac.
Kind of really -- particularly became a stand of the world beginning brought up the system that.
Makes it's gonna really make people say -- that's just like my iPad.
I'm in Jersey your and -- Jersey at north Jersey Italian as a manufacturer I grew up with Cadillac lots cadillacs all over the place it's actually nice to see Cadillac make it a little bit of resurgence.
But what what's your field from where you stand you know you really big picture I Kelley blue book you saw everything that was happening are you senior resurgence.
In auto sales these days.
Yeah I think what you're seeing is that done for the the businesses smarter now -- you -- used to be that a company like General Motors or two later somebody they needed -- Sell you know quarter million -- a certain product in order to turn a profit.
That that philosophy and the ability to now monetize and make profit on much smaller volumes of vehicles is where I think is exciting because what that means is.
Consumers can then find the vehicle that really meets their needs.
I think that quality and reliability on that that's pretty universal -- the price of doing business case so now consumers can go and say okay.
I want a vehicle that does this and I'll go find whatever brand or whatever company -- that's providing that.
It has I think that's really gonna start to drive a lot of sales now again -- the good part about that is that the manufacturers are now be able to make money on those smaller volume sales so.
The consumers gonna win again.
