And he's introduced a bill today that would repeal.
I health insurance tax that leaves American workers on the hook.
Joining us doctor and senator John Brosseau.
Of Wyoming good to have you with senator thanks for having me -- -- let let's talk about your legislation first and foremost.
What would -- do specifically to to remedy this aspect at least of obamacare.
-- eliminates one of the large taxes of -- -- that specifically hits small businesses.
And individuals.
Who buy their own.
Health insurance.
And this could save families about 500 dollars a year about 5000 dollars over the next.
Ten years remember Lou the president said if you pass his bill.
That your health insurance premiums would go down about 2500.
Dollars a year per family -- what we know here in nineteen months later is for families.
Health insurance premiums have going up almost 19%.
Since so the Obama health care law came into play.
You've got public opinion on your side the most recent poll that that -- -- -- Gallup poll shows 47% of those.
People but Gallup surveyed.
Favor outright repeal of obamacare.
What are the odds that the democratic led senate would approve -- fuel legislation.
You know they're pretty dug in one way and the American people are convinced that the Democrats and the president are wrong just look at Tuesday.
The ballot initiative in Ohio.
66%.
Of the voters who turned out that day.
Say no thank you to the individual mandate that says everybody has to buy insurance it's something that the Supreme Court will be.
Providing judgment on next year I'm continuing to work with people on both sides of the aisle to get more support.
But also we need to repeal this health care law it's bad for patients it's bad for providers the nurses in the doctors who take care of those patients.
And -- with fifteen trillion dollars in debt it is terrible for taxpayers it is going to just contribute.
More to this awful -- that we have.
The debt burden that -- spending burden is obviously rising more money being pushed into the public sector.
This is and and onerous burden -- on -- already overburdened.
Economy.
What can be done within the next 24 months twelve to 24 months.
To start moving toward a real.
A real path to prosper.
Well.
Number one is we need to pass a balanced budget amendment to the constitution of the United States my home state of Wyoming.
We live within our means families in Wyoming live within our means.
By law we have to balance our budget every year in Wyoming it's time for the United States to do that as well I know we're gonna have a vote in the senate.
On a constitutional amendment to balance the budget that's number one.
Number two we need to cut the spending.
Now you have Democrats saying oh we have to raise taxes -- problem isn't that we're taxed to two little -- It's that we spend too much senator we have some interesting discussions coming out of your fair city right now.
Discussions that include noises from the Republican leadership on Capitol Hill that they might actually goal for raising taxes.
Months to the consternation of most people -- thought those Republicans had committed to no new tax.
You can actually raised.
Revenue by putting more people back to work we don't need higher taxes we need more tax payers that are gonna guise of my -- I know I know the ways in which revenue can be enhanced raised.
Aggregated.
Whatever you want -- euros.
But the question is is your leadership talking about raising taxes which is sure to set off a firestorm.
Amongst the Republican faithful.
No they're talking about tax reform which would result in lower tax rates.
And an ultimate increased tax money coming in because you'd have.
More productivity more prosperity.
We need to get rid of a lot of the Washington red tape that holds down business -- what does -- -- -- -- Senator do you think there's one person in this country right now.
Paying any attention at all the what is done in the nation's capital.
Who would trust either part.
With real form and -- style it right now.
Under the pressure of an approaching presidential election.
To do the right thing.
Do you.
No that's why the most important thing we need to do overall is have a balanced budget amendment to the constitution.
So they can.
Not continue to spend more money.
Bids coming in when Barack Obama took the oath of office -- national debt was about.
Ten trillion dollars now it's over fifteen trillion dollars.
We had a so called stimulus package that has failed we have a president who believes.
The answer is government jobs as opposed to private sector jobs it is the private sector.
It is small businesses that's what.
Senator I -- advocate in the interest of time and in some consideration for you.
Are now bring up the the levels.
And indebtedness.
-- on the part of this government borrowing George W.
Bush took office.
In the -- both parties seem certainly powerfully culpable.
In all of this hopefully both will be virtuous in trying to get this resolved as quickly as possible -- future literally depends on it.
Senator thank you very much is always it's always good to talk -- thank you thanks thanks for having me urgently senator John Barrasso.
