Much you joining us here thank you -- -- marketplace fairness act -- it sounds like a good piece of legislation.

But it's not really as fair as it sounds a tough federal proposal.

Backed by ten senators from both parties.

That would make it easier for the states to collecting -- ready for this sales tax for what you buy on line.

-- the federal government just in time for the holidays.

Here with the details is my good friend and radio host and freedom watch regular Neal Boortz Neal it's a pleasure welcome back to -- march.

But the states don't need permission from the congress to tax as unwise as I think and perhaps you do.

Taxing the Internet is the states don't need Congress's permission to do that do any.

I don't know whether they do or not and are we gonna still be friends after this I notably with our -- I think we'll show but let let me haven't if you think I'm.

OK I'm a heretic on this.

On this issue.

You have a local retailer.

That buys property builds -- -- rents property employees people pays local taxes.

The whole -- leader and they collect sales taxes then you have the Internet that comes in there.

Wirelessly.

Or broadband.

They don't -- local structures they have no brick and mortar they don't hire local people they are paying local taxes.

And they get a competitive advantage in the marketplace because they don't have to charge sales tax I just see a bit of unfairness there.

I'm not one of these people it goes ballistic about making Internet retailers collect sales tax but you're right let the states decide -- not the federal got.

-- the the the essence of the power of government attacks is physical presence in the government's jurisdiction.

So if you don't work in New Jersey just because people are watching you on television now from New Jersey doesn't let the tax collectors in New Jersey.

Tax your income.

But but but all you hear me out if -- And is located I'm just picking them by way of example and Indiana young and have they have a warehouse that's the size of ten football fields and in -- -- And they ship their goods for the other 49 states they'll pay a -- taxes Indiana where they're located but sending a good into the state.

As opposed to sending your bricks and mortar and employees into the state.

Is insufficient I would argue for the state to tax you stated differently my dear friend you know anybody who complains that things are too cheap on the Internet.

You know like I hear people complain because the goods are too cheap but not because the price is too low but you reckon you make an awfully good argument.

But I just hate to see the people who invest in the community.

He put it this competitive disadvantage but now you have me worried.

About whether or not New Jersey and New York is going to Levy attacks against me on the massive -- you pay me to appear on your program you know any good lawyers or license in New Jersey that might be able to the -- get.

You don't have it I don't like answer when we all know how to judge judge.

Years ago -- it was represented Evander Holyfield is his lawyer when he made his first fight New York City.

And they came after him for income taxes and we had a Donnybrook on the one.

Yes we we usually do I'll tell you what trials -- Is that Republicans are in favor of this this is such an.

Eight and as a label of big government that the -- they got permission of the congress to do something.

But they have the power to do a sovereign entities that it's enough to make you think and wonder if these guys have ever read the constitution.

Well we we're federalism is dead judge you know that.

-- stands for nothing but jurisdictions of the federal government.

Our founding fathers.

They felt and they wrote hey look if we're not at war 95%.

Of all governments should come from the local level the federal government should be relatively insignificant -- your life.

It's completely the opposite now right this states can't.

They can't sell you bird seed in the states without some federal program -- regulation.

Coming into -- unfortunately.

You're right I'm mark thank you my friend it's always a pleasure to have you.

Absolutely.

-- search.
