Nationwide unemployment is stuck at nine point 1% congress is paralyzed by -- -- -- The president's trying to help by issuing executive orders left and right.

But it doesn't really add up to much meanwhile Florida created over 23000.

Jobs last month more than any other state.

Had a -- fire at this country's job creating engine joining me now.

Florida governor Rick Scott governor welcome -- great to have you on the show really appreciate your being with us.

It is nice to be here in anybody else that there is interest in in moving and we want them all the glucose Florida while that was an antibiotic that you stay out there were -- I know is jobs jobs jobs.

Right I.

The listen your name came up when I was interviewing Terry Duffy over at the CME in Chicago he said he's talked -- -- I'll let you respond to what he said here's Terry Duffy from the C and it CME.

Scott -- been.

Very aggressive and his offered to -- CME -- down there he's a very pro business spending was a former -- self.

He understands the benefits of being corporations such as CME group.

To the state of Florida as do many other governors around this great country.

And maybe estimating maybe yes maybe -- maybe I'm -- to get something done in the state of Ohio next to exit now we're gonna make a big decision.

What are you doing governor get to get the CME and moved to Florida.

Well I hope the big decision he's gonna move to Florida.

You know here's what we're doing we we -- reduce our taxes we are we have a low corporate our business tax rate we have no personal income tax.

We're eliminate over -- -- thousand -- aren't 101000 regulations this year.

-- -- regulations it just kill jobs.

We're getting rid of permits they just cause problems is kill jobs -- is make it a pro business environment.

Our education level and education we're focus and science technology engineering and math areas where people get jobs so we're just solving problems just like you doing business.

Well you know it's interesting because I think there are several governors out there really trying to get the CME and move one of them is Texas.

Can you beat Texas in getting the CME to move to lower.

Absolutely.

Tonight I'd -- Governor Perry that my job every days to do whatever he's doing just a little bit better just like you doing business.

But think about -- got great beaches we got a great weather we've got -- in the US chamber in the number one workforce got a great education system.

So all the things you think about and standpoint have a business Florida fits into that.

Where a fast growing state.

And we have a governor that's gonna go out there every day in try to solve your problems as a business person.

Well you know I look at your unemployment rate you're -- ten point 6% compared the nation at nine point 1%.

That's not a great track record although I understand Florida has come down that number has come down for the state of Florida.

How successful has been your job creation program and -- Gary swoop down there's been getting some criticism.

Are you doing at the right way is -- more you could do no grown more jobs to Florida.

So Florida before I guess I was inaugurated in January.

-- for at the four years prior to that we've lost jobs in Florida the highest unemployment record was December had 12%.

So we dropped -- implements come down to ten point six still not low enough.

But we're making great project progress I think we're number two this year in total job growth -- 1101000.

Private sector jobs.

In September we're the number one state in job growth and we're doing -- -- you know treating business people with respect we note they create jobs not not government.

Reduce taxes or reducing the business tax referring to reducing well we have a personal property tax all these things.

And yet you mentioned now before what are the interesting thing she did recently though that we haven't talked about is a trip to Brazil tell me about the fruits of that.

Effort and I think it's gonna pay off over time.

Hello it's -- we started -- I took a 187 people down there with me from -- 115 organizations and businesses.

It's already Florida's number one trading partner over sixteen billion dollars worth of trade and we've got a big surplus it's our number one country origin for tourism.

So we we went to the biggest tourism conference I think in the world down there.

I met with all sorts of our companies.

We announced one company America's natural caffeine they're expanding open the plant to the port of top Palm Beach 25 million dollars.

There export operation for Brazil is expanding Miami.

And -- signed just in the three days I was -- 61 million -- for the contracts for the businesses that traveled with me so we're gonna do a lot more business with Brazil.

Let you know -- somebody with a lot of executive -- experience.

-- you bring a lot of experience in the boardroom to Florida to the chief executive suite there.

And yet one of your initiatives has not been so successful and that's welfare drug testing.

A judge recently saying that she didn't think it was the right thing to do an in factor claims they could save 77 million dollars by having.

People who apply for welfare get drug testing.

Was probably not attainable.

How do you respond to -- And he was never about money it's about children remember welfare is separate from unemployment welfare is for the benefit of -- child.

So of that money should go to apparent that doesn't use drugs.

So what we say it is before you as a -- get the money you're gonna go through drug test now another -- can get the money I'm gardening can get the money.

But should not go too apparent that using drugs.

This money has to go for the benefit children so I'm very -- -- with the judge.

I decided.

Will make sure that long term the right thing happens it's the right thing for children and our state it's the right thing for state.

You know and the population completely agrees with me they're completely opposed to what this judge decided will -- be appealing her decision.

Most we're look at our options.

But most likely will be appealing her decision but -- it is it is that this is for the benefit children.
