And I -- -- -- of the economy gives new meaning to the phrase misery loves company the misery index you remember that.

A measure of unemployment and inflation is at its highest point in nearly three decades.

US unemployment remains at about nine point 1%.

And inflation is at a three year high holding America's economy hostage and standing in the way of a recovery.

These numbers are the source of her long angst on both main street and Wall Street.

Is this nation's economy culture and morale doomed to join the ranks of other big government countries like the misery in Greece or Spain.

And if this is America Spain.

Is it because of the nation we inherited has drifted far from the core principles.

On which it was founded.

And -- the government's answer to the nation's failing economy.

Lead the government -- seizing your personal gold to restore its bank accounts.

More on that later in the show with little -- and in the wake of these pressing questions and concerns.

There is -- People are taking matters into their own hands as grassroots movements like occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party which seem to be on opposite sides of the political spectrum.

But as you know have some issues in common.

Take common name.

At the Wall Street Washington access of cronyism.

Could these movements stop America's fall from grace.

I suspect my next guest we'll say no.

Is the author of the new book.

-- was side of a superpower.

Which claims that America as we know it will be gone and fourteen years as its it comes to racial and political balkanization.

Stop this decline He wants among other things a two year freeze on all federal salaries and immediate moratorium on new immigration.

And a constitutional amendment.

Making English the official language of the United States.

But freedom march wants to know -- you expect the government to stop the decline.

When the government itself is the cause of the decline.

Here to discuss former presidential candidate former senior advisor to three American president's best selling author the inevitable.

Patrick Buchanan hello that our Kurdish area and I see you my friend -- we if Christian country.

We were born Christian country and we are ceasing to be so the Catholic religion to which I belong judge and I believe you belong.

-- it's been in horrendous decline.

Three fourths of all Catholics went to church in the 1960s now it's 14.

You've -- one in three cradle Catholics lose the faith are parochial schools are declining.

But when you talk about christianity this was a Protestant country originally same things happening to Methodists lutherans and Episcopalians.

You got to Christian component of the country is down to 75%.

And many of those folks really don't believe the basic tenets of the -- What would you use the government to nudge the country in a Christian direction even to the exclusion of other non Christian religions would not -- we're not that's not the government's job.

But the crisis should have catholicism and christianity -- result.

Of a cultural moral and social revolution that tore through this country in the 1960s.

And change the way people think.

And I think don't think government can change that around and government shouldn't be doing that that you want us to go back to the way of that thinking before the cultural revolution right.

What made America America -- -- made our country great and what made the country in 1950 the Eisenhower Kennedy country.

If you will the greatest country on -- to which everyone wanted to go.

We had a lot of flaws and some of which have been aggregation it's segregation was the law of the land and 13 of the country and when I didn't have the freedom that they have today well there's a freedom excuse me the predicts -- -- -- of the so called freedom to cheers.

I do believe governments got an obligation to protect the rights of the innocent.

And the rights of all its citizens including the unborn including the on the out of course and that of course we agree but but here's what I take from this book.

And by the way this is a great book if you love Patrick Buchanan or if you love to disagree with -- look at an up.

You should read this book if you want -- sell -- X rated -- suicide of a superpower.

How do you fight.

The culture wars in the country without expanding the size of the government you know that's what freedom watch does it monitors the government.

As it steals your freedom -- -- your property and grows all the time do you want the government to grow in order to fight the culture wars.

No -- -- take the way they fought the culture wars -- under the Federalist system 31 states stood up and voted no.

We do not believe in homosexual marriage and estate.

But you've got courts coming in at a higher level unelected anointed judges.

Imposing this on Massachusetts.

And other states know I know in New York stay here.

This was gone through the legislature.

But He to get a federal system judge a true federal system I think.

Let one state behave as it -- as it wishes and its people wish and the others behave as they wish.

The problem is that -- the central government which is imposing one rule upon everyone and the Supreme Court.

Which is during the same thing.

None of whom are elected they were all anointed and they are misrepresent -- your constitution.

Should we abolish the seventeenth amendment which has the popular election of senators might would be a freer country with more laboratories of democracy if we had senators sent.

By state legislatures and less federal regulation.

That's what the founding fathers wanted they wanted the states to be represented in United States senate.

Which meant the states would pick.

The people that Saddam there in the states would do it what are their own at the well right now there's 26 states that are suing the federal government to stop Obama camp presumably if the senators from those 26 states have been sent by those states who wouldn't have obamacare -- at least 52 of them.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Of the same bird of prey let me ask you if you agree with me and this we have one political party it's the big government party.

It has a Democrat wing that likes war.

And taxes and assaults on commercial liberties it has Republican -- wing that likes war and deficits and assaults on civil liberties agree or disagree Pat Buchanan.

Large judge you've got it right.

That is.

It's -- all right let's country are in.

This first parties voted excuse me I was against the Iraq War and Ron Paul is against it and -- Kennedy was against it.

But this Senator Biden loves -- -- politics dishonor -- and there.

The senate senator voted for No Child Left Behind we we are in very bad economic -- about as bad as we have been in in your adult life and I adult life which of the Republican candidates for president.

Would be scheme changer that we need.

I think.

I don't know exactly but I will say that I've got some hope for Mitt Romney critique did -- -- old cat he's not a conservative.

I'm sure as a believed to -- what you have that is already what it does do He does believe that it's actually -- -- -- any major downside the government in the United States.

I think if He came in their division that I'm not endorsed him.

But thrills me which one -- the economic side.

If you're talking about somebody who at least look at the budget and say look we can't afford this.

-- this is not running proper to -- this that the other piece of wages aren't any supports the stimulus has any supports the income tax the way it is about -- get rid of the IRS while welcoming -- -- -- -- you say -- who was closer to Pat Buchanan on many issues.

I would say Ron Paul is I'm closer to him on all other issues except Ron is no good on economic nationalism judge.

-- no economic nationalism pat Buchanan's economic nationalism is the American economy is for the American people.

And foreign folks can send their -- yen but they pay a price of admission to get -- -- what is this nonsense about you wanna stop immigration.

I think.

Well look I would stop immigration into the country until unemployment is 6% what -- yesterday us.

Why would you bring foreign workers a million in a million -- -- every year.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- When you got 25 million unemployed or underemployed.

And they're taken jobs many of which Americans can do I agree with you that look some of these folks -- in his country.

Especially this time for they come in -- -- take jobs -- farms and places like that others.

Don't price -- Let me let me switch gears a little -- -- it will -- Republicans risk the rise of a third party at Tea Party Libertarian Party.

If they nominate the non conservative Mitt Romney.

I think -- well and my guess is the Tea Party folks and others and I.

Apparently am on not draw on some new -- I -- I think there's a possibility they would get turned to Ron Paul but.

I don't know that Ron Paul would do that because frankly a third party folks would -- the Republican Party.

And we would have Barack Obama as to present on poll ran for president third party and ask you.

To join them on that ticket what would you tell him that -- and been there done that -- Been there done that I thought I might -- set up up up.

Now I couldn't do that because I think it's it really is imperative that we.

If we remove Barack Obama who's not an evil man or bad man but he's he's just a failed president.

And we need a new president desperately in a -- got -- nominate when I would endorse him publicly what anybody that Ron Paul really shrink the federal government and he's talking about getting rid of almost everything that's not in the constitution which -- in my -- You I think believe -- your heart as well.

Look judge if they don't do it of what I say as we get our best we are Greece they don't deal with this this problem in the next four years.

We are Greece.

Patrick Buchanan.

Pleasure to have you.

A pleasure to agree with you pleasure to and Edwards and -- America survived a 20/20 five suicide.

Of a -- Thanks for joining us thank you remember.
