The president's pet project obamacare is falling apart one piece at a time meticulous -- To -- it was getting not too long ago.
These bills are -- Well more than 800 pages but.
This section.
On the community living assistance services and supports.
Act so called the class sexy LA -- Is a is a breakthrough attempt to be to be.
I think to be understated.
All right so is this just the beginning of the end -- now.
Louisiana senator David bitter Republican thank you senator for joining us again looking back at -- chart -- -- -- we found out last Friday night late that the be kept Kathleen Sebelius is group HHS decided.
Maybe this class act should be removed from the Obama care legislation.
But that means something doesn't -- that's a big big yet indicated to the rest of the the obamacare as well right.
Absolutely the class act was used really in the fiscal sleight of hand to suggest huge deficit savings in the bill.
Now that that's being ripped out of the -- those deficit savings go out the window and it's more yet more evidence that all of the big promises.
About obamacare are not coming through.
In fact the opposite is coming -- first it would reduce the deficit.
Now those savings are gone out the window it's increasing the deficit second it would reduce health care cost note.
Those savings are gone out the window recent independent reports show that it's increasing.
Private health care costs and increasing the cost of insurance so one by one all of those fundamental arguments of about obamacare or being proved incorrect.
-- such as senate just take a listen producer Z twenty so is the sound -- here is the whitehouse calling the class plan a win -- take a listen.
The class plan is a win win.
For reducing costs and our health care system.
And protecting Americans who require long term care I those senator Sheldon Whitehouse and -- -- -- definite win wins -- and that was when.
We learned and again we can't learn this until we pass the bill memorable a sustainable when we learn run that they built the funding for that the plan was front loaded.
And the benefits were back loaded why don't we why are we finding out now why do we know this before you guys have been -- or both sides -- -- anybody anybody who look seriously at the class act even back then knew better in fact.
Sheldon Whitehouse own democratic colleague -- comrade Conrad that.
Democratic head of the Senate Budget Committee.
Called the class act a Ponzi scheme of the first war.
He was very correct and very honest about it so anybody who -- that -- including men.
Would have found out and would have known better it was a Ponzi scheme that was put into obamacare.
To create these phantom -- They senator.
In journalistic get it today let's bring it to today so now we find out this this.
Portion of obamacare doesn't actually bend the cost curve down and see you when you removing it bends the curve up.
This is likely.
Beaten and going forward plus the cost the American taxpayer a lot of mind let's take a look at who was running for president on the GOP side.
Mitt Romney instituted a similar plan in Massachusetts.
Will this come around in turn around and -- Mitt Romney going forward.
Well I think clearly.
Health care is a big issue for governor Romney.
In the debates in terms of Republican primaries I don't think this changes think that this that was the case before.
What I mean this is new news I mean surrounding is -- You know basically trying to defend this portion of of his his platform and there are other issues on his platform that may be questionable at least from conservative standpoint.
Well this is the one that everybody sticks out -- -- While but if the if if for some reason of some way the obamacare legislation look like it was working.
He could turn around and say well I saw was working there and I really felt it it worked for Massachusetts but now there's no leg to stand -- -- Obama and there's literally no leg to stand on.
For governor Romney.
Well again I think the bigger impact is what it does have a fundamental arguments that were made.
To pass obamacare.
One by one those very fundamental arguments.
Or going out the window.
It's gonna cut the deficit.
That is clearly not the case and this is one factor.
Even reversing that argument it's gonna cut health care cost and cut the cost of health care insurance.
That is clearly not the case again very recently in the last three weeks we had a private sector study.
That showed exactly the opposite is happening.
Rights and I remember this.
This is a huge in fact the Tea Party was really.
I thought wasn't born on this issue -- may have been born on current stimulus it was certainly.
It it fed on on obamacare and -- the town halls and we were saying and they were saying and people -- saying.
This thing isn't going to work it's going to be a big expense meanwhile the that the accounting made it look like it was going to be savings the American people.
Here and as it's coming home to roost now yeah it's I can't imagine you guys are walking the hallways of the senate.
It can and or -- Russell going.
Told you so we told you sell -- -- Lou lay and the American people are saying that because there common sense let them to know better to Begin what -- that's why Obama care is not.
And issue of the past is very much an issue the president and the future it's gonna be a huge issue.
For this coming presidential election all right senator David thank you very much for joining us thanks Eric --
