USA today I cited a poll that said three out of four Protestant pastors believe exactly what I believe and that is that organism is not christianity so this isn't some wild fanatical statement that I made right past.
I've -- you on a bunch of the new shows it is -- and in the wake of of the comments and people are taking it differently here.
My question of what what I would really like to know -- your comments prior to Rick Perry's speech.
Were they when did you did you send the Perry can't to the Perry camp and whoever followed you they know what you're gonna say that they haven't commented to you before that.
Absolutely not -- the Perry camp had absolutely no idea of what I was gonna say.
They did not select me to introduce governor Perry even though we've been acquaintances it was the family research council the organizers who invited me to -- And -- -- -- while we had no contact with a Perry campaign about when I was gonna -- all right guys crazy seven for the -- you came -- FOX & Friends Sunday morning take a listen that we just like you to react to what He had to say.
I believe -- when we as evangelical Christians.
Have the choice to select a leader to unseat Barack Obama.
Well to give preference to a Christian in some instead of someone He doesn't embrace historical christianity.
Sir you know what I heard that I mean mr.
Obama is a Christian is He not.
Yes and I believe I think he's professing Christian so I've taken an exit his word.
That he's a Christian.
And so I believe that but I believe that's not the only criteria that we used to select leaders.
I think quite frankly if Bob Mitt Romney ends up being -- -- eight.
Against Barack Obama I'll probably support Mitt Romney even though I don't believe he's a Christian because I believe Eric.
It's probably better to have a non Christian that at least in some way embraces biblical principles like why.
Then a Christian like Barack Obama.
Who uses a biblical principles like abortion to -- -- up practices so yes having a Christian is important.
But it's not the only consideration in choosing the candidate all right -- and and in the aftermath have you heard from -- to candidates have you heard from.
And -- -- that Mitt Romney have you heard from Rick Perry and her from Michelle Bachmann for McCain even.
I didn't know what I would not expect to and I wanna mackerel important point here I have been endorsed Rick Perry high do not expect report editor Rick Perry to endorse every one or any of my beliefs.
And I think most of voters are sophisticated enough to realize.
That I'd just because a candidate is endorsed by somebody that doesn't mean the candidate endorses the endorser.
