Well -- in the eighties back and that is what pop star philanthropists now nightclub investor Debbie Gibson is doing her latest venture.

An exclusive interview that -- gets them.

Going round have you on the shopping -- -- -- to ask you about this returned in this down to of the eighties -- -- -- we were living who would have thought bright meaning you never know it it had one resurgence I think this resurgence of the bigger than average -- this past.

Summer with Tiffany.

And people came out in huge numbers but not only people in outreach group.

But young people I mean I performed about a year ago with Rick -- and my needs me to you know leave that to me.

Tempers you know -- ghastly I said Diana you know.

I mean it's you know it's it's great and I think that that music that Ara.

It was on a shame that we positive melodic and and it's I think people want a return to that innocence and -- -- common what is going back to what you got I don't know coming back out a little actress and -- -- original -- with the -- with throwing -- the -- -- But you Phyllis is coming back rock -- -- -- having a movie coming out her I mean all key mine I I got an ambulance that actually which is -- with Russell Brand but ailing GAAP.

Rocket pages huge success I mean I saw Cinderella in concert last week in Los Angeles they blew the roof off the joint and He can't you have young people older people.

You know it's just it is all that I think that that was a great musical -- a lot of authenticity and and heart.

Now you've got this you're re opening tonight culture club yes big.

-- quite meet ever New York great place to go -- your reopening it tonight the -- again you're finding as an investor yourself as an entrepreneur or.

That this is where the money is and nice but yes no business manager said to me don't do it you know because it is it's true it's like the eighties are back I think that in New York City there's not been a great place to go just dance.

There it's not the clubs with bouncers outside let's say you're not too cool you know you're not cool enough for our club.

This clubs accessible it's right -- really adjacent Times Square -- you know thirty ninth and fifth -- And so people can pay roll out of rock of ages in the -- -- is music yeah.

I can't give out you wondering if that's changed since we were you know NEA that we -- -- was and you weren't on the music scene was that and we had albums.

I guess that's a that we get our final answer yeah -- I now know everything is digital and -- seriously think about that with the change that iTunes is kind of brought to I mean obviously like that there's little a lost romance you know I still love to go to Tower Records and hold that album in.

We need the liner notes -- And now you're picking artwork for music and you near where that it's going to be that big and iTunes and it's great because it's obviously more accessible.

But it is a lost -- -- like sequence an album -- story and -- -- you know kind of -- I'm not a theme with an album so.

I am around romantic about even the warm sound of an album is very different part of when I was sitting here talking about back in the day when I -- and we are now.

So let me ask you this you've also been very successful on Broadway in -- in Greece you sold out shows across the pond over London from Robert is also something that you not only as a performer and an entrepreneur gore.

It's something that you tackled as well yes I actually wrote a musical called the -- with Jimmy van Patten it's very quirky and and sign and we've got investors -- so.

My next foray into the Broadway world I wanted to be as a composer and -- -- of this musical more than starring.

And that's have been that you're gonna be looking hoping to -- cut all around Asia absolutely I'm very -- -- writer at heart minimum performer but.

To me to be able to bring something new to -- when there's tons of revivals and stuff is is an exciting.

Prospect well the finally go I get to ask you since this is a business program I -- -- you can about the economy at all.

Went with the culture club reopening the venture that you're you're putting capital -- but also as you're trying to kind of maybe get some new things.

Happening looking for investors on rally -- do you worry about the about the consumer you know I I really think.

That quality.

It it just rises to the top people find the money to to spend on quality and also again adventures that I'm involved in -- more accessible you know I think that got if I could make it a lower ticket price on Broadway that would be great.

But culture club is very reasonable things are not overpriced again it's not that's not the attitude on so I'm not worried frankly I think people do wanna escape and go have a good time this is the place.

Are you didn't invite Tiffany to the opening tonight but you know well now you can come to the opening believe Larry put in a call to -- to -- -- perform in the near future -- -- -- and I love what I do enjoy our.

There is a bad thing.

Their enemies together -- -- rivals from any exact thing anymore gonna what the second Italian -- anyway Debbie -- great to have you on the show you think good luck tonight they would love to -- updates about the -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I will.

Sadly the back to CRI I have to -- -- over to the other anchor.
