It's not very far from here hundreds even thousands of young people are protesting against -- -- DC.

And against the banks against Wall Street against the relationship between them.

A senator.

From Wisconsin who understands that relationship is self made businessman.

Sometimes critical of it.

Here to chat with us now senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin welcome to what would be a balmy day but what was -- it's been hard -- I -- to I don't know I'm -- I'm almost wedding here.

Should the angst in the lower -- that.

Directed by young people -- Wall Street really be directed at the big government central planners in Washington.

Yes I mean and -- that we do need to separate.

Manufactures and people to make things and you do service for for folks -- around the country.

From the big money center banks and certainly from Washington mean it's it's really those two entities.

-- really created the problems and really starts in Washington quite honestly.

Did you ever think that you would see the day when the government would takes tax dollars from all of us.

And give it to its big friends and business and and banking whose businesses were failing tax dollars that the government takes from us extracts from us.

Given to these bankers and businessmen to shore up their failing business -- Well enforcer that's been the progression and I guess yeah we haven't seen that certainly -- -- very my life time it's it's unfortunate it obviously doesn't work mean.

The bid that exhibit if that is the slender example which we really basically that's a half a billion dollar photo op.

-- -- crony capitalism that bad bad behavior past and because judge we can't afford.

We -- one point three trillion dollar deficit this year 4000000001000 last three years we simply can't sustain this type behavior.

How I wish that a majority of the senate agreed with you.

Because senator Johnson it's it's October 3 last Friday September 30 the end of the federal government's fiscal year.

They spent.

It's in one afternoon.

Because that they didn't give it away they would lose it we might not find out for months down to home billions and billions of our tax dollars went.

Question is that any way to run a government are actually is not judging of what one thing I repeat well a lot of -- -- the fact that the United States and it hasn't passed a budget.

In over two years now with his -- -- an agreement be deemed one being you know not now we have a budget.

And as result now the trying to Russian -- appropriations bills.

And that that's a process it as an account is is a small business person.

Who's actually could created budgets balanced and actually had surpluses.

You -- -- take a look at the way this budgetary process simply doesn't even work.

It is shocking.

You must have been and for a culture shock.

When you an entrepreneur or a self made businessman -- person risked his own money who borrowed money from others and -- there -- -- was able to pay them back.

Walked into a bunch of politicians.

Who take tax revenues and borrowing for granted and think they can spend that any way they want.

Well I do bring -- I would get perspective there's no doubt about it I don't I first got it right after I got sworn in people say notes -- was worsening stock.

I knew it was pretty bad so -- and -- it.

You know it's not worse.

But now we've actually gotten this this appropriations process judges far worse it's far -- why is it.

That the senate hasn't passed a budget why is it that the government funds itself.

For weeks at a time you can run your business that way fox doesn't run that way NBC doesn't run that way.

No business could operate that way only the got -- well it's because it's controlled by the Democrats.

And I don't believe the Democrats are really.

Sincere in their desire to actually limit the size of government.

-- -- credible spending plan if they would have been they would pass a budget they don't want to show the American people are president bomb after the Boehner deal.

You're end up resulting in -- SP downgrade came on -- you know I wanted to grand bargain.

What president bombing if you want to grand bargain it why did you put that in your 2012 budget.

Why didn't you -- the members you -- senate to actually pass a budget to show the American people what type of you know credible spending -- you have.

The fact matters they've all they want is protect the programs they wanna protect obamacare they want to make sure that the keeps marching forward.

I don't know why it's been destroyed health care system envelope on my budget well our our Republican serious about wanting to shrink the government.

Or do they just wanna shrink the size of the growth in government.

Which doesn't shrink it at all well what we need to do realistically shrink the size of government relations size -- GDP.

And of course the best way to do that is grow the economy so we've got to make sure that -- any type of legislation that we passed in congress.

Doesn't do harm to economic growth and I mean.

We got in this problem judge over decades and -- gears to get get out of it but that's one of the reasons pet cat bounce may Lotta sense real cuts to lower the baseline.

-- cap statutorily.

And then put a constitutional limitation -- fiscal discipline -- -- -- constitution.

The -- we're -- get control of the speech the president is still touting his jobs bill and it's getting very very dramatic and very -- -- in one respect it's nice to see him believing in something even of what he's believing and would be a disaster if it came about it would waste money.

Where a second ago material way.

Can't can't give credit some Democrats and senate they think they're calling it down -- obviously.

I his budget judge in this think of it lost zero to 97 United States and not one democratic standard support his plan now there's a bunch they're bailing on this jobs program because.

They realize we've already borrowed too much that the government spends too much and they're not willing to support governor sizes jobs program senator Johnson I have.

Argued on this show freedom much.

That some of the borrowing too much and spending too much is the fault of Republicans as well as Democrats.

Now we know there are big government Republicans and in the congress -- -- -- -- you name any names because you have to work and and live with these people.

What do we really have one.

Big government.

Party in Washington.

With a democratic wing that's really big and Republican wing that's sort of big.

The -- them believe that government should grow and government can create jobs and government can stop it can solve our problems.

Rather than like I think you and I.

Government should get out of the way.

Absolutely well -- -- -- I wasn't happy when the Republicans are spending you know 23400 billion dollars more than we are taking in back and -- in the early part of the 2000.

But the fact matters last -- -- Republican.

Republicans controlled congress our deficit was a 162 billion dollars.

Two large.

But the next year when the Democrats took charge is 450.

And one point 4000000000001 point 3000000000001 point three trillion so we.

On an order of magnitude in terms let spending control in this in this current congress.

And that lets face it.

The Democrats really are the party entitlement they are the party of out of control government at least Republicans by and large want to -- restrain them.

When talked a little bit about the super committee.

Did you ever think that you would be a member of the United States senate.

And suddenly the legislative power the power to debate the power to offer amendments the power to challenge.

Would be taken away from you and given to some select committee that only has six senators on it.

And that would -- in secret.

And that you couldn't even find out what they were talking about until after -- report comes out where the heck is that.

The -- -- I have to admit I I feel like I've been sitting on the sidelines a bit the last eight months.

That's one of the reasons I I sent a letter have my staff.

Take a look at what other -- people already done it you don't have to reinvent the wheel here yeah we came up -- a week with one point four trillion dollars worth of reductions in the rate of growth in spending and that's -- we're really talking about it nothing draconian just common sense approaches.

Borrowing from the debt commission from senator Tom Coburn from the grace commission you know.

Also other.

There's a bunch of people write down work you don't reinvent the -- it's pretty easy to move to cut one point five million dollars to win this committee comes back with -- opinion are you -- really gonna sit on your hands and just say yes or -- is we're -- be real meaningful debate and challenge what about this.

What about that were to come up but -- in the process has been set up for 51 vote.

Majority pass.

Again and -- -- wait I already in the I don't have that 51 vote -- -- I -- I voted no I didn't like the deal before I let you go.

-- the president just kill an American.

Without due process of laws and constitution requires a judge you know -- when they're illegal combatant.

Which is well yeah I mean -- -- stated we may have some differences.

I certainly want to make sure that the the ground works there and there's actually court approval for some point this.

But the fact of the matter is we are at a different time in terms of states -- -- Islamic terrorism a real threat this country and yet take some.

You know nasty measures -- -- and we we may -- -- differences little bit on that all right it's always a pleasure thanks for joining us back to a warm studio and more freedom watch.
