By the way I just mentioned we just got that weekly number no mortgage rates the thirty year fixed mortgage rates now -- -- an all time low.

Four point 01%.

-- you know I know that the Federal Reserve what operation twist the idea was to get rates slow maybe you know this what happened.

But rates are already super duper low.

-- do you think it's about rates that would give people start to move I know I don't think it's about rates I think people don't have any confidence in the housing sector.

And I think there's an and what is it 3040% of mortgages are underwater now Charles a large percentage of -- but I think adored appointee made Sandra is the idea that if we talk about the worst thing that can happen to an economy is deflation.

I think we're seeing a microcosm of and a housing market people say I don't have to -- the -- because tomorrow a house will be cheaper the same also want.

But the longer we put that off the more foreclosures come on the market this glut of homes that is not moving we'll continue to sit there you're looking at your neighbor's house that.

Basically you know are not taking care of that brings out brings down the value of your home re not there's no end in sight for the housing market unfortunately.

Alright Republican presidential candidate Herman -- had some strong words for the black community here's what He said.

-- African Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded not even considering a conservative point of view.

Joining me company right now -- Juan Williams Fox's political analyst so one what do you make -- that comet.

Well I think hurricanes right tactics I think that.

You know what there's an opportunity here for the Republican party for Herman -- actually make tremendous inroads.

Maybe I should not be so ration our exuberant and -- financial terms and using the words tremendous with to make inroads that some kind of with the black community.

Which is now 90% plus.

-- behind President Obama there's been increasing criticism about the lack of economic stimulus in the black community that high unemployment rate especially among young black people.

A lot of that energy that surrounded Barack Obama in 08.

Is just not they are the questions are out there and all of a sudden if you have someone like Herman -- someone who's had success in the business community and who has more conservative social.

Credentials -- present Obama it would be interesting to see how the black church community black business community would risk.

Of course -- -- -- gonna have to really really worked really hard I would think or any candidate.

From the Republican Party to go out there and try to get that vote that's another side of this ledger.

I'm not sure Republicans have worked very hard and over the last couple of decades ago after this vote.

Well you know I think President Bush did in fact and -- Really President Bush had good numbers when He was governor of Texas.

With black voters.

As compared to the rest of the country and then with that and -- NAACP.

Ads.

About the James Byrd killing me where they really tried to -- Smear President Bush and and I think had success.

And so what you see in the years they have path is that President Bush had a very diverse cabinet I don't think there's any question about that of course Condi Rice stands out Colin Powell bonds or -- I can go on as well as Hispanics in that cabinet so.

No I think that there were efforts there.

But in terms of the political investment and you know -- show can speak -- -- you know advertising working.

Putting money out there into that community they didn't see that there was going to be the return from the black community I think with -- Herman Cain at the top of a ticket.

That dynamic shifts I don't think it's just the point where you can expect Republicans to win.

The black vote but I think against a black candidate President Obama it would make for -- and Haiti are fascinating game right.

I don't I agree with the thrust of what one -- one other point out.

Herman Cain is talking about a specific economic plan and 99.

Nine planned to basically consumption tax reduce corporate and personal income tax -- 9%.

It offers African Americans and indeed all Americans.

Hope and an opportunity my hunch is he's soaring because he's an outsider and He is offering something different something new.

You know one I think there with the controversial word there was -- -- but I got to tell you that -- -- in a backyard yesterday listening to the radio.

And I think the Michael basin -- -- a real -- black DJ across the country.

And if he's just fed President Obama just not getting help from Republicans and Republicans want you down and you know of course -- -- not offering any sort of evidence to that.

That brain -- thing it's hard to get around when it it seems like it's self perpetuating.

Well away thinking hold on I think at you know that.

There -- -- you can make the case that Republicans have been intransigent obstinate.

You know clearly Mitch McConnell a statement that would lead over Republicans in the senate instead they.

-- his goal is to defeat President Obama keep him from having a second term I mean you could look at the both on every piece of legislation it's almost consistently.

All Republicans opposing the press so I thought before we go out and I -- dumping or so before we -- how the Republicans put forth.

There I did that they think a better for helping overall economy without being called racist and that being personal.

Oh I think they look this is what we -- -- back to moment guard Doug Doug has picked up on if there are specific ideas on McCain's plan.

You know if He has the plane it's gonna provide jobs it's going to generate economic activity in the black community gonna lower that unemployment rate.

Bring it on people are anxious to hear in fact people feel that President Obama.

He's been taking the black community for granted just assuming that they're there and that Republicans this is the least they have been ignoring them so atomic -- -- I'm not ignoring you I have ideas and here's how my plan is gonna benefit your community I think He will be heard loud and clear.

He also with a guy that you know Morgan Freeman was just attack -- party here comes Herman came to the defense He can't get in the position where he's just -- -- Where people see him as some kind of stooge being.

You know manipulate like a puppet by Republican.

White authorities or something but you know what and Herman Cain is genuine that's the best of Herman -- He can deliver currencies -- -- here and I have a plan for you.

Well we both Norman can we know he's no puppet for sure and -- -- -- I think in the Tea Party voted for him down to Florida so you know so much for the -- Tea Party.

They're given in a -- signal both fast quick answer.

If there's a white candidate of a white candidate -- a GOP nomination is there any chance they can get the black vote even small piece of the.

Sure but they've got to invest.

Effort time and money you know reaching out that community and I don't think they're going to do a pentagon is they the returns on dollar issues too small return on investment that's the Wall Street and -- thanks a lot on really appreciate welcomed careful much more on this later in the hour with Montel Williams plus.

President Obama wants rich Americans the pay their fair share in taxes so how much should they pay my -- gonna weigh in on both of those issues.
