Absolutely.

We'll FaceBook founder Mark Zuckerberg gave 100 million dollars in Newark, New Jersey schools.

It's as Superman the movie waiting for Superman is talking about by using this money to get teachers.

Around big unions.

And now -- The -- company a lot of country.

-- -- I guess big a set of best Mo money more problems on that -- got got -- other nutshell why did it has been a lot of controversy -- and let's let's talk about some of the things people are upset about.

One of the issues is the notion of merit pay.

That.

You know great teachers or perhaps get paid more it seems like there's a lot of put back on this from some of the unions who look.

What we're we're doing right now we're doing a innovation fund for our teacher which has been we don't not covers -- -- -- want to have unions been happy with you don't they they they actually give some positive quotes about the reality is is that teachers.

Or the best innovators in our -- as we should reward that innovations -- trying to make them expand.

And we shouldn't be supporting poor performance and so these are controversy ideas as much as people want to make them be so it's indefensible in Newark, New Jersey.

There's a school my central war first in the principal said to me what I meant a more the first is schools -- fire two of my highest performing teachers.

Now a law that that supports that -- indefensible by any measure.

I'm something that should be chain He fired the good teachers get a -- good teachers wanted budget cutbacks about two years ago in -- in the world to.

-- is -- but it's the truth of the matter is that the bad teachers the worst futures had seniority and they were protected by union rules and then we can abolish that the good teachers to go -- -- -- you know what if there's a -- at least the bad ones go for white and I don't wanna.

With the union rules I wanna see these -- the rules that politicians.

Lawmakers and unions all greeted bargaining table in the all did a disservice.

To our children.

It's -- we need to start doing is having rules the first informal support excellence support performance support innovation and most of -- the bottom line is that support our kids.

And that's what's really being worked in the education debate right now is everybody's trying to get these capsules -- I'm anti union I'm pro this the reality is is what's best for kids in Newark, New Jersey this is -- -- Zuckerberg money is so great.

Is is allowing us to support those strategies have already or working.

-- a lot has been made about some of the experimental schools you guys have gone on there.

Is the is the idea of really pushing up excellence academic excellence because what I've seen particularly inner city schools is that the curriculum it's come down.

And you know what the kid gets a better grade in the mother and father -- good but they're not prepare for the real world.

Wolf I agree this deal is no way that we shouldn't be dumbing down to every one of the best things ever came out of George Bush's mouth was the soft bigotry of low expectations that we should change that in America.

Realities is what we're trying to do -- -- -- raise standards we're not he's an experimental schools were actually taking models.

That are successful -- in -- and other places in helping them grow to size the scale in the city of Newark.

And and and look the reality is right now -- talking about a employer problem appoint before -- graduates is about 5% the country.

For people don't graduate from high school.

It's about 15%.

We don't not have a lot of but the -- thing they're having trouble finding is engineers -- have a hard time finding people technical degrees.

So we have a problem in this country that the majority of our workforce for recent any fair look at demographics.

Under in California about 70% of the kids under fifteen or minorities the United States -- -- 45% but yet minorities fall dramatically behind.

The -- -- -- -- workforce if we project for 25 years would not be prepared to compete.

The point for scripture economy if you talk to -- -- I do one of the hardest things they have.

And the find is attracting high quality talent.

-- -- -- -- -- -- what isn't one of the problems on I'm going to kind of merges with one of the other topics we talk a lot this morning of president's speech the with the Congressional Black Caucus.

We -- the G is often I think He was trying to keep it real with the black audience.

Isn't the notion that you know to keep it real -- black kids you can't speak proper English and you have to -- to forgive them for certain things that ultimately.

Make them less competitive when they get to the real world you know look I I think that our president has been an inspirational model his guys Harvard Harvard graduate Harvard law.

I think you should have been an inspirational model but I don't see it happening I think more kids follow little weighing right now and in these kind of guys I think the president missed an opportunity.

To really take black kids -- that -- hold due to a higher degree of account I can't discount the fact that you are the same thing -- -- young.

That I looked up to Stevie Wonder I was really impressed with him but at the same time.

I also looked up the people that we're achieving there academically intellectually I think we get -- -- -- -- more credit is not school that I can go into.

But I don't receive any Barack Obama the kids -- I -- light up.

And you talk to about -- Barack Obama great in the not talk about the fact that He can talk believe that she's off of those words or talking -- the fact.

But here's a -- that need to be -- prisoners these because of preparation.

Education and determining I watched brick city the that this shows that took place in new York and I saw some of that -- -- -- ready.

Inner city real life stuff.

And I didn't necessarily see that the kids I saw might have been -- they -- President Obama.

But they're not that they don't have to ask for races to emulate him that I got to go to Harvard because they're not gonna do the work that it takes.

That's show featured a lot of kids getting in trouble -- taken the same routes that they only routes that they think are available to them right -- the end of the day -- the president federal education policy as just talking with as the Jeb Bush for governor.

Of ward.

Unfortunately focus so what from federal policy that that's not what's gonna make a difference.

We have that we of a nation of fifty states who all have -- education policies every state should be.

Raising standards should be opening up for reform when it comes to issues like tenure should be supporting.

Education should be all the having equality of financing but -- I don't know.

Should be creating rules that are fair that support Axel I'm being told the rap but your boys don't want my favorite politicians and are you gonna seek higher office or may be I I -- -- maybe governor even try to even go on -- beyond that is that something that you're thinking about you Bible but you blend you blend very well you know you just quoted George Bush you know you quoted President Obama.

You that is why and a purple -- gas from corridor -- -- and they're glued together the reality of this country is is is this knee jerk partisanship of our country stop talking about party's historical and ideas that work.

Jack Kemp as a hero of mine a guy who supported -- permanent reprisals are working into work right now no side.

But the political debate -- monopoly on good ideas what's gonna move America forward is not left or right but moving forward together alright Cory Booker mayor of Newark, New Jersey thing.
