Right you -- -- -- be headlines today Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas making a formal request to the United Nations today.

For morning you in events today involving Israeli Palestinian leaders and the US role in all of that we're joined by rabbi might -- Marvin Hier founder dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

Also named by Newsweek magazine America's most influential rabbi.

Rabbi -- welcome.

Thank you.

What do you make let me ask you this we make first of the timing of Abbas given -- -- been given permission to ask for a Palestinian state.

Well you know He has four He has to -- He has the United Nations for permission I thought it was a terrible speech.

Nothing encouraging.

Or hopeful for peace.

He blamed Israel for everything it was full love -- Packed for half truths.

For example.

He says that an eight if we have to put an end to this 63 year old conflict.

And that He said that I'm quoting him.

He says I come from the holy land the land of divine messages.

Of the Prophet Mohammed.

And the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

What about Jeremiah.

Ezekiel.

What about -- what about king Solomon what about King David.

And you see from his speech he's saying.

-- have no connection to this Latin.

This is the land and for our -- made for a four Muslims and Christians.

But the Jews made the holy land of the holy.

And he's denying that that that's the problem that's why it is no he's -- the 63 years because the Arab world can't say.

We recognize.

A small old Jewish state amongst -- smaller than the size of New Jersey.

They're -- able to say that unwilling to say that and that's why you have a conflict.

It's an age old conflict generations old now are you optimistic a solution will ever be reached.

Well I'm not optimistic with a government that Bachmann -- box that made a deal with Hamas.

Signed a deal with Hamas a terrorist organization.

Committed to Israel's destruction to be pot of his government.

How can Israel.

Live in peace.

With a Palestinian government with 15%.

Of the government.

Is made up but terrorists who believe in suicide bombings would any country live in peace -- -- such circumstances.

What -- back to this question of timing and curious for your thoughts on the current US administration in it if it's perhaps a little easier then you know could Abbas have come out in prior UN.

Gatherings and make.

A request like this.

Let me let me -- -- President Obama last -- By making the prediction that within a year they'll be a Palestinian state search and certainly encourage.

-- but -- box.

I'm delighted that the United States is doing the right thing and it's made it very clear that they intend to veto.

-- Any prospect of a Palestinian state that comes before the Security Council and the reasons have not because Israel doesn't want peace.

Israel wants a true peace -- not.

Not a piece -- not that is in cohorts with Hamas a terrorist organization.

You know the United States would not -- -- imagine if on May but we were at war with what a -- may days.

And then peace came -- the -- Davis said by the way half of our government is gonna be made up but terrorists you think the United States would sign such a peace treaty.

Israel would have to be crazy -- such a peace treaty and they won't do it.

-- I might I mean there will be Arab yes I'm sorry to interrupt you but.

As a business network I'm curious for that financial implications of all of this threat is it to business not just US business that Israel has -- strong business.

Environments as well if a Palestinian state in some way -- reform ultimately comes to pass.

Well first of all I don't believe that Palestinian state welcome to pass in the right -- not -- these circumstances but let me say this.

It gives your help the -- the -- -- -- has been one of the strongest currencies in the world Israel's economy was booming.

Israel is happy to have peace -- -- or for a lot for the Palestinian.

All they're asking for is saying just as we.

Are willing to recognize every Arab country they way the way they want to be recognized.

Why can't you -- the Arab world that the 63 years say the magic word.

We recognized.

A Jewish state in the Middle East.

Sounds simple enough right rabbi live Marvin -- thank you so much for your time.

And your outlook and just want to remind our viewers that we're waiting for the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the UN general assembly here in just a couple of moments.

I in the meantime -- -- markets like the safety continues -- treasury yields hitting and.
