Well it wasn't that long ago just a few months we were telling you.
About a silver lining in the jobs market -- -- can't find that these days.
And a new report from the Labor Department.
Even worse unemployment rates rose and more than half the states in August for the third straight month.
Only twelve states reported an improving picture.
The -- worst of the state of Nevada it not only has the highest unemployment in the nation.
The rate jumped a half a percent just from July to nearly thirteen and a half percent imagine thirteen and a half percent when the nation is at nine point one.
Well despite being home to one of the hottest tourist destinations in the country foreclosures are rampant and the construction industry at a standstill.
The same thing be -- for California and Michigan with similarly high unemployment rates.
Not all bad news thanks to booming oil and manufacturing industries North Dakota for example continues to have the lowest unemployment rate.
In the entire nation at three and a half percent Nebraska South Dakota not far behind.
And due to the ongoing cuts at state and local governments New York Georgia Washington DC reported the biggest job losses and those are some big ones.
Minnesota posted the biggest job gain in August hiring more than 28000 people but I have to tell you it's a little bit misleading.
Since most of those jobs -- workers who were temporarily laid off during the government shut down in July.
Bottom line here too many folks are still without jobs and -- many have stopped looking because they're so discouraged.
As we -- a host of issues in DC at state capitals across the country we can't lose sight of the goal putting Americans back to work and therefore our economy back on true.
