Small business confidence in the economy took a hit in August.

The National Federation of Independent Business -- it's optimism index has been declining for six months.

And is now disturbingly.

Low at a thirteen month low.

The group blamed the results on uncertainty created by Washington's battle over raising the debt ceiling and other policy questions.

It was a vote of no confidence.

The settlement we have on the debt and so we're still looking for something to give us hope what we haven't seen it.

The Obama administration took steps that might -- small companies that our government contractors.

The president announcing He directed government agencies to pay them faster.

Today -- ordering all federal agencies to make sure.

Those small business -- get paid a lot faster than they do now.

The federal government pays its bills to small contractors nearly a hundred billion dollars a year typically within thirty days.

The administration said cutting the time to fifteen days while help them get the cash they need.

To invest in expanding their business is marketing their products and creating jobs.
