-- one of the big things we've been talking about today is jobs recourse have.
The big monthly jobs report coming out on Friday today we got the ADP report on payrolls for private sector jobs.
And one thing that we continue to see is when it comes to the private sector one that main parts is indeed jobs are coming from.
Is small businesses but many of course have been hard hit by hurricane Irene this weekend.
And some of them are now trying to get back on their feet we have -- -- here from Fox Business dot.
-- that's how they're very.
And in that.
So small business owners worry suffering before Larry King -- hit the East Coast this is very having a tough 2011 between the weak economy important jobs climate.
So I spoke to a few different small businesses this week up and down the coast that we're still struggling with flooding.
Damage their business and actually a lot of lost revenue which is really something that they can afford to -- -- now.
The first business I spoke to with Paris based guardian -- -- it's in sheepshead -- -- it's right on the water.
So they said that Mayor Bloomberg really prepare them by giving adequate warnings ahead of time.
To prepare for the hurricanes they -- their restaurant with all sandbags and everything like that saying get flooding.
But they were still forced to shut down over the weekend.
-- banquet hall so they had to postpone a wedding and they lost like 50000 dollars in one weekend which is a huge sum of money especially in this economy.
That was definitely.
One business that was hit hard.
Another -- business I spoke to was this and drilling resort and spot and that's looking in the outer banks North Carolina.
And they had to evacuate all of their gas starting on Thursday before the storm.
So they couldn't re opening -- Tuesday.
So they lost an entire weekend's worth of gas over 250000.
Dollars in this economy again huge numbers -- -- losing.
They did suffer any damage actual structural.
You know the buildings if they have they have twelve buildings -- located right on the water but they.
He said that on the lucky there yet definitely some of their single of the group's got a little bit -- -- but most of there around the cost is really gonna -- -- that revenue that they can't make up because this is the high season for vacation time table you can't.
But it could count -- little bit Carolina from that we can you could see how hard hit that area.
Was in this storm.
Definitely and my life business that I in your view was transferred back the going -- -- -- -- -- -- New Jersey actually count next -- -- and unfamiliar area fair yes so they get suffered flooding actually from a river which you wouldn't expect to be that -- they're looking at all the way downtown.
But they lost power for -- so don't have power back now.
They lost thousands of dollars trying T keep their food crashing and keep it.
On ice and all of their food went bad and another thing that I think is a very important -- these small business owners.
They didn't know what their insurance policy was gonna cover which is huge.
Me don't know -- flooding covered and I know from reporting that flooding hasn't purchased separately again on policies so.
I mean these small business owners really need to think I had read their policies before.
A disaster happens is you never know when it's gonna -- I can -- -- business we had Connecticut now son yesterday summing up how you can sort of protect.
Yourself financially and -- that this and that was one of the main thing that they kept emphasizing.
Get your insurance policy with plenty of time because some of them have waiting periods.
And and make sure that you see let you know what exactly covered and what isn't because most people don't realize that.
In the thirty cases flooding is not have to go through one of the international this -- for it won't -- it -- -- they won't.
And -- your location even if you're not necessarily in a flood zone like they eat their located in the middle this bustling downtown you would never think that -- -- -- Running from the river all that's there downtown and did so at the definitely -- up against some.
Major damage and you can read more about -- story an article on foxbusiness.com.
