Obama administration announces it will stop deporting most illegal immigrants so the courts can actually focus on the most dangers ones.
They say to make America more secure not and -- critics say this is backdoor amnesty -- Joining us now James -- -- the heritage Foundation's Homeland Security expert.
So -- basically the illegal immigrants that haven't cause any problems can say but the bad guys got to go.
Yeah how well this this fails.
Even as -- public safety strategy.
Because how did the how -- the evil ones you know the rapists and murderers get here they came in the same flood of illegal immigrants everybody else.
So you deport them as big deal if you haven't done anything to do with the pipeline of people coming and then some percentage of those people coming back in.
They're gonna be bad people to -- -- and -- the evil people pool together and fix the system.
So it's just gonna fell back up again so this this is a public safety initiative that's just all I.
It doesn't matter -- you did good -- bad if you're illegal shouldn't you be illegal and have to do it the right way.
-- that's this it's a fundamental question strategy which is how do you fix this system.
And part of that is a different law enforcement approach is what's called the broken windows approach like what they pioneer New York City which is you create a culture of compliance so in New York what they went in they'd.
Sure they still -- arrested murderers rapists they didn't stop doing that.
But they went after petty crime as well because they wanted to create the impression that the -- -- -- New Yorker and -- and what happens to the crime rate all crimes from the highest to lowest.
All went down.
That's what you need to do it immigration law yeah of course she need.
To deport the rapists and murderers every administration has done that to say this is the first that is -- -- criminal deportations that's allies are.
So -- -- got to get the other ones you've got to get the other ones to.
But here's -- thing so.
President kind of sneak this through right congress isn't around to approve eighty bypasses the legislator altogether why is it to -- kind of get -- Latino vote in.
Well boy I mean that this just looks really bad you do it in the dead of summer ask congress is out of town.
I mean all the optics are bad and when you do -- you do it on the eve of the anniversary of 9/11 what our government said.
You know we're gonna take Homeland Security seriously now we're gonna secure our borders we're gonna fix immigration and then you do that's literally weeks before -- anniversary and it.
It's it's.
It's hard to argue with a straight face it's not a it's not for you know political ploy to -- to appeal to a certain constituency but -- Look -- here's here's what really gripes me it and then the administration goes around about -- we're we're importing more people in everything.
But they were the first people say in their right we're not gonna support our way out of this problem.
We're not going to deport ten million people so they're -- their numbers -- meaningless but what you have to do is you have to create a system that works.
Which means that you have to enforce the laws are on the bucks.
That people do not think they're still criminals because they've broken the law and they -- repeatedly they can get six months to two years in prison well.
Do you really want to stop enforcing every law in the country where you can get six months to two years in prison.
Because that means that you know things that liberals love like you know people that that that attacked you -- Endangered species that they would go up to -- -- -- or conservative president coming and I I'm not going to enforce the laws I don't like.
I'm glad -- here and sunny here illegally year legal I think it's in the -- stop great --
