Our next guest says the American public's disillusionment.

-- President Obama will be -- how only on display in the 2012 election.

Joining us now from San Francisco Dick Morris of fox -- political analyst.

Former advisor to President Clinton also the author of the New York Times -- -- -- -- -- patriots guide how to defeat Obama and repeal his socialist programs -- great to have you with us as I listen to the president today it sounded like.

He might repeal them himself He was in such an expensive move.

Well.

The definition of what's going on in the country politically.

Is the president against congress.

And the president is on the stump.

Scoring points against congress -- -- no institution more reviled these days then congress both parties need.

And both parties are suspicious.

Of their own congressional leadership.

But he's not running against congress he's running against Romney or Bachmann or Perry.

Or one of the others and what he's really -- what he's really doing is by participating.

In this conflict by trying to take a position and that and trying to win that position.

He's classically winning the battle and losing the war He -- has here.

Pretty -- been dropping along with congress on an energy effort court over as we have live pictures up of the president right now.

On his listening tour.

And by the way did Morris He calls -- listening to -- just about every moment -- -- -- him speaking.

Not listening but He is am -- -- right now a picturesque background.

How what do you think of the idea the -- itself of going on a quote unquote listening tour and a big old boss.

Well it's Hillary Clinton's idea.

She -- -- bill and gore invented the bus ride and Hillary started her senate campaign with a listening tour.

In a state that she -- you in.

As you and I got -- numbers are relatively -- Saturday -- is there -- Doing but I think that that for Obama it is just the wrong message to send this country doesn't -- -- president.

Who's gonna listen to their grievances and hold their hand and pat it and take -- temperature they -- a presidential have a decisive.

Aggressive program.

And the problem Obama faces is that He gave away.

The leverage the the ability to stimulate the economy.

In the first month and office with that stimulus package in the debt that it's caused cents.

What -- should be doing now is a big tax cut.

-- to get the economy moving quickly.

He can't do that because He spent three trillion dollars of debt as a result of that stimulus package He did it in.

January of 2009.

And now he's sputtering for breath while we're in August of 2011.

-- you can't do it again well.

-- and the Republicans that are emerging here the so called already.

The the chattering class has it down to three in the Republican Party -- one of whom has been in the race for just about 48 hours or so.

About of course -- to repair it.

-- -- Michelle Bachman who is congress mark -- of winner in the straw poll in Iowa and Mitt Romney who has been the front runner for some weeks now.

Those are folks are gonna have to start coming up with something besides you know we had we don't think much of president Obama's policies aren't -- Well -- Yes and now with the job of an opponent is to oppose.

And -- you can assume the burden of proof too much you need your five point program but are you need to be mainly focused on being the opposition.

But it's not a three way field that's a misnomer.

It is at this instant.

But Rick Santorum did very well in the debate and He really took Ron Paul on -- -- ridiculous.

Thing about Iraq -- Gingrich no matter hum feisty He gets with Chris Wallace He can't ignore the fact.

That He is brilliant to me is very articulate bright ideas are very good.

And I also thought that Herman Cain has tremendous charisma on the -- strong support from the Tea Party.

I He just needs to manifest that in the debate so I don't think this is closed by any means there -- I think the problem -- Perry faces are.

Is is He gonna compete.

For against Bachmann for the Tea Party vote in Iowa.

Or for Romney for the economic conservative job creation free market vote.

In New Hampshire.

Or is -- -- finish third in both in which case of become a regional southern candidate.

There and I think it's going to be interesting to watch my guess is that Buckman.

Romney.

Perry will be competing for all of those folks is just a guess you're the expert but it's just a guess for my part.

I you don't like and how everything here because I watched this.

In our unfold.

Both of the debate the Fox News debate Thursday -- -- and this weekend in.

In Iowa.

On the straw poll.

You know whoever the nominee turns out to be here.

That nominee -- a pretty good.

Pretty good set of cards to drop trooper running mate.

And there's a pretty good cabinet and advisory board sitting there on that's the stages well.

What does that I think.

I think that's really true although vice president is spoken for it's it's going to be Marco Rubio oh well I -- -- but but you know I -- that's true.

It's a late stage more folks who walked the but I'm saying that it's not a bad set of folks to structure.

Dick Morris rather -- very talented group.

And you and thank you for being where the.
