Like that okay President Obama yesterday announcing new emissions -- fuels efficiency standards for heavy duty trucks.

Should the president right now be spending its time on things like this especially at this moment we've got to bring -- sky so many choices that got.

The heavy duty trucks yeah that's what we -- -- hear what the markets collapsing every day that.

Qualities these these these have been in place actually since 2007.

It would have been planned as part of the President Bush's.

Energy independence and security act so this is.

Catching up political they said the president has hitched his wagon to some sort of far flung idea that solar panels.

And energy efficiency will again -- or all the -- domestic -- is that want to twice this show.

Jumpstart the economy yeah well I I actually think that in this case with these with these trucks this is the pain is really at the -- and for these trucks the things that.

Inordinate amount.

Fuel.

It's 4% of the trucks on the road these over 20%.

Of the fuel while some would argue that the -- is or the lack of jobs and things like well yes and -- -- but we actually think that these trucks and and and and modernizing them and getting them more efficient will actually lead to more -- -- talking about let's and we talk about innovations got and and in no end and how you know going energy alternative energy the country is that really grabbed at the most.

They seem to be under a lot of pressure these days at the Spain to the world the finances of the world.

I mean that the wants to embraces they put a lot of government money into it right and how that might have been -- hundred honey it's backed government -- running out -- -- as far along as they as they needed to.

And that's a problem that's why I think the free market really needs take take control of it and and make it happen.

I think it can't I think you can happen without the subsidies I think you can you take that off the table on both sides of the issue on oil Ellis what do you make of that.

Well I yes I mean in the long run you can't have government paying for everything a free market has to do it -- there are some initial are indeed an initial Heisman rules to govern -- -- Because some time when we do that we get good stuff.

Off there were moments early in the development prophecies here where it -- -- any individual investors' interest to do something we have to collectively do sort of that would assist.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And they -- -- I don't think anybody has a problem reduced idiot let's executive Charles is a solar power navigator.

And it's gonna be strong -- -- and you're going to be of it I could get very far in that.

-- -- probably I would applied at the prices right yes but here's the thing you know if you're gonna tell me that you're gonna take.

Thousands of dollars out my wallet so that the government can try to figure this thing out I'm -- I'm -- down to nine and I don't think that's what's happening with these with these new standards I think these new standards are gonna drive innovation at that at that heavy trucks mean.

You look at these heavy -- -- on the -- twenty for hours a day.

They they are I doing when they're stationary when the when the drivers of sleeping.

They continue to burn fuel we some people argue though that things like this lead to manipulation and actually back cars like a cafe standard for instance.

You've got a fleet of cars that what He did you make to really jump and that plastic aren't we have to -- million miles a gallon and and and W I hope I don't.

Does that get on par violence that it some well some people buy them some people you don't and yeah that's the way that car companies hedge their bets on.

I guess I would I would ask you about the timing of this -- is -- -- -- new fuel efficiency standards for these big trucks said a very weak part of our comedy -- economy.

I would feel like the biggest problem I have with that is asking for this sort of change from companies where it might come to the point where it do you know inhibits the growth of their.

Visit I actually type in in this case the manufactures our favor of this statement in favor of it since 2007 when President Bush originally propose well propose them.

And I think it's gonna lead to greater innovation for guys let me interject.

-- because we got the oil inventory numbers petroleum numbers are out so let's take a quick look can we bring up Bob Boyle.

-- making a bigger move -- remember it was up less than a buck now it's up almost two dollars inventory to draw -- -- I think was larger.

And I did anticipate what does that tell you that would be bullish into that would that that that is the highs of the session which we are right now.

I remembered what happened this very moment last week.

Where we saw a bigger build in those crude inventories and gasoline imports inventories than anybody had predicted.

That was indicating that people were driving -- are consuming less energy.

That led all the economic concerns that even led to -- -- in the stock market on that Wednesday.

What we're seeing now is we -- bigger draw down in those crude inventories then the one million barrels that was expected to build that's bullish that indicates that.

We were using more fuel period right so He can't drive that yeah.

Are talking about government manipulation with in the auto industry is.

You think ultimately though the only way to really get what they want.

With respect us driving these alternative vehicles.

Is to somehow Jack up the price of gasoline is that really the only way that it that you know the American public.

The say okay I'm not gonna get a navigator or -- Cadillac.

I'm gonna get a Smart Car and put the bicycle on the back you know well until those for the prices for those cards and those vehicles come down it's going to be hard for average Americans to get that is nobody taught by both the let's let's get increasing better fuel efficient vehicles that run on I'm gas that we can we you know we can use less.

And put more money in the pockets of the drivers -- Scott Anderson the Green skeptic -- -- --
