-- -- his position crystal clear on the issue of the Second Amendment.

And I'm Joseph mentioned I approve this them because -- always event was.

As your senator Carl protect our Second Amendment Rights that's why the NRA endorsement -- Citi.

I'll take dead -- at the cap and trade bill.

Because it's bad for West Virginia.

Senator mention is now targeting -- United Nations arms treaty.

And wants to make sure international bureaucrats -- eliminate or trying to eliminate our rights to keep and bear arms in this country through that trade treaty.

Joining us tonight from Charles Charleston, West Virginia senator great to have you here.

Thank you Lou good to be with you senator Howard is the United States trying to infringe on our constitutional right.

Or right now that you know we're concerned is 57 senators move that has signed a letter that basically to this president and and two -- President Obama and Secretary Clinton.

Saying that it as they get to the point of negotiating this and I think it's been known senators sent us Secretary Clinton.

Has said that basically.

Every country won't be able to control their own destiny on this we think that's non negotiable leave it that way.

I don't -- 109 the other members of the UN making decisions on what we -- cannot do with our rights.

I'm a proud gun owner I'm in NRA member of I'm a proud gun owners most West Virginians and we've we protect the Second Amendment Rights.

They'll be negotiating this to 2012.

Then it'll come to the senate in 2013 we -- met a message loud and clear to the president.

That that will not flower be ratified if they tamper with our -- Second Amendment.

Writes well that the senate has the right there were to -- Any treaty surely that.

And it's sort of interest they -- you don't send a note to that you ran.

You have to send it to the president of the United States you must think he's part of the problem not the solution.

Well on this but I think we sent a message.

Loud and clear to him that this is very special very sacred for all of us and when you have 57 senators willing to put their name on the line.

And sign up in a bipartisan fashion and as you've been watching Washington lately at all there's not many things that happen bipartisan.

This is totally bipartisan move.

Now well we saw one thing happened that was bipartisan that was that vote in the house.

That was bipartisan as it gets I think to break through there.

Because there wasn't gonna happen otherwise.

I let me ask you this -- idea of -- of this administration's main player.

Attempting through treaties with Mexico.

Attempting through -- -- Justice Department initiatives.

With with Mexico particularly along the border of that they just really don't care much about Second Amendment Rights.

Of the American people.

What makes you think that they're going to relent -- just because 57 senators said you know we don't think so much of what you're trying to get done here mister president.

Well I think I think He knows who were very vigilant on this and we're very serious about this and we sent this letter well in advance over year in advance.

I think let -- know how we feel.

And as Secretary Clinton secretary of state Clinton and I think that she has negotiated basically every -- every our country.

Will be in charge of its own jurisdiction.

And we just -- ratify that make sure they understand and if you -- -- anything different we will not and -- defeat.

Well senator I think I don't I'm also I'm also are very strong support of the Second Amendment.

I'm also I think I should disclose clearly and unequivocally I'm a member of the NRA as well.

And the country appreciate your your vigilance on this issue.

-- -- You know it is.

It is a critically important issue and we thank you for being here today.

To tell us about comebacks in -- senator when Lou -- this is.

This is not a partisan issue this is one issue debate even if it were -- senator party lines even if it were I'd be inviting you as a Democrat right back.

No matter what.

Thank you very much senator senator Joseph -- that.
