We continue our insider -- series with a company that software could be booting up your Smartphone helping you download -- book steer tablet shares.
But also maybe even helping in the US immigration service speed up naturalization processes.
-- -- up a 140%.
Over the last 52 weeks joining us now live from Palo Alto, California in a Fox Business exclusive.
Is that back from and -- he's the chairman and CEO and president.
Tibco Software but back -- great to have you -- -- we also brought you want in part not just because of our series of what's insider gadget but.
You were also one of the top ten names that's in the new cloudy ETF.
And we thought well let's get -- -- because as a really fascinating story is specifically because a lot of software companies out there.
Are doing similar things but not a lot of them are getting a response to their stock up a 140% what's the one thing you've done.
In the past year that is really help shareholders see the light on this company.
We've made it possible for customers to address that -- because problems -- one is how do you offset costs that -- existing customers.
The second is -- optimize you know supply chain and the third is how do you.
Manage the fiscal fraud -- cyber threat.
And to do all of that you need deal to end technology but it goes really the only company that can do that and that's been the secret sauce.
What is the best example because that's a whole bunch of them everything from working with utility companies to actual tablets and Smartphones.
The best example of that real time analytics and I'm not pushing here but I thought that the Telecom story in India was fascinating and -- can explain in layman's terms.
What you do -- them and how brilliantly it works.
Yes wolf the old way of doing things was there's a company in India -- Had about for a five million customers every month.
But they lose a million so using old twentieth century technology from IBM and Oracle.
They try to analyze after the fact what was strong.
I think would never solve the problem.
They came to us and we said it's really simple if you drop.
Six calls in the 24 hour period you switch so since we pick up every event on the network we call it a fingerprint.
-- to five dropped calls we offer free SMS minutes if you drop popped up up be -- cod.
In that same period.
Problem solved so that's a good example there's no point in knowing that you lost a customer out after the fact it would be nice.
Exactly there's no point in knowing that you've been hacked off but the fact there's no point nine that -- been committed.
Well that you've -- a power outage and and what we allow you to do is to find that out before it happens.
Well listen you'll be a real genius if you can figure out why the calls are getting dropped -- but maybe that's your next project.
That will be an -- -- unless -- do that especially in certain parts of California in Manhattan because we have problems here let's talk about.
The atmosphere right now for your business of people are very concerned about the debt ceiling -- -- -- I've always felt that there was an optimism in Silicon Valley but.
-- what would you say about what the steps the administration should be taking for job creation because.
You as of course a start up company really created more than 2500 jobs globally I don't know how many in in America but certainly I'm -- -- and and what would be the best thing to inspire businesses like you.
What we think less is more list that's a -- everything less taxes lesser -- regulation.
Less bureaucracy.
We have a lot of cash overseas make it easier for us to bring that back.
So less is always more in our business.
You mean if if you have a tax holiday from repatriating your your funds that are overseas would you could you promised that that -- a problem was.
That Washington thought about doing that but when they did at the last time I believe in 2004.
Companies brought that money back.
And then they didn't spend it to hire more people here I think -- there is this approach approach where people would like to at least see a little bit of -- guarantee there would at least be layoffs.
Well we.
And I think.
If you look at the 21 century companies.
It's really about being on the right side of history and companies like Oracle and IBM a very much -- its -- companies.
Took on the other hand.
Use this 21 century technology to solve 21 century problems and I can show you.
That we would be hiring lots of people as -- today.
I would love I would look to see that -- -- I have to ask you because a lot of people don't know your story you came to this country at age 1516 with fifty dollars in your pocket with a dream of attending MIT.
You did.
And you were able at least to stay here you've got a Green card somehow you know Senator John Kerry and Mark Udall and -- and Richard Lugar are trying to put together the startup -- act which would make it easier for people who get educated here.
To get some type of Green card and -- so that they could then start up a business is a good idea.
-- I think it is lists.
Make it easy for us to hire people.
If a guy gets a Ph.D.
in computer science from MIT we should just staple agreeing -- -- to his diploma.
Because we need more of those kinds of people in this country so.
I would have absolutely agree that that was Senator McCain that.
Senator Kerry yes Senator Kerry and senator and and -- and and Lugar listen thank you very much yeah that it's it's good to see this kind of story because you got that Green card after your education -- -- -- he started a business here hiring.
And here is a success story definitely thank you so much for joining us.
Well thanks for having me as well as well as some good background and eBay is the chairman CEO and president of Tibco Software he's also known as mr.
